We purchased from Ring Central last week and prepaid for the year to get a good deal on the price. We were scheduled to switch our lines over on Friday, but to our horror, Ring Central switched them 2 days early on Wednesday while we were out of the office. We had to scramble to install our equipment Wednesday night. It has not worked properly, the phones keep going out, either one will work at the expense of the other or they are both out. After a total of 22 hours on tech support (yes that's twenty-two) and tier 2 tech support, we do not have phones at all. I have a real bad feeling about this and wish I had never heard of Ring Central. The loss of productivity is overwhelming!

@MJH: thanks for your comment. Glad to hear you've had good experience with RingCentral. The service definitely shows promise - I'm glad it's living up to that promise for you. Months after the original post we still get people telling us that they're not hearing entire words from our sentences.

Although I can't find the post right now, RingCentral did recently write about their intent to make some improvements, specifically in the area of call quality. So, the fact that they recognize there's room for improvement is a good sign.

Thanks for the review.

I've been using RingCentral with their DigitalLine service for about a year now. While I agree there are occasionally glitches, I really haven't noticed problems at the same level as you. I occasionally get a bad connection or echo on the line (perhaps 2% of the time) but other than that, the service has been rock solid and reliable.

It works great for me as I work from home and can often go out to work in coffee shops and still know who is calling and use the call controller to opt to forward incoming calls to my cell (or to voicemail).
